I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. I completed my Ph.D. in 2010, then took up an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Chicago in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with Professor Benoît Roux. During my postdoctoral fellowship, I studied ion channel conduction and methods for modeling ion-protein interactions. I joined the Department of Chemistry at Memorial as an Assistant Professor in January, 2012. Please see my CV (pdf) for the full details of my professional work.
Fatima completed her B.Sc. at Shahid Beheshti University. She is developing new methods to calculate membrane permeability coefficients more accurately and using these methods to study the membrane permeability of gasotransmitters.

Shae-Lynn is in the third year of her B.Sc. at Memorial. She will be working on the calculation of diffusion of gases through cell membranes using Bayesian analysis.
Evan is an NSERC USRA summer student in the group. He is using DFT calculates to assess parameters for calculating dispersion interactions in molecular mechanical force fields.
